New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raised objections to the full-page newspaper advertisments of the BJP Friday, a day ahead of Delhi assembly polls Saturday, and questioned how the party funded them.
The AAP also said the advertisments were a clear violation of the code of conduct.
"Today, Delhi has seen that every paper has a front page advertisement given by the BJP. In my opinion this is clear-cut violation of the EC guidelines and the Model Code of Conduct," AAP leader Ashutosh told reporters.
He asked the BJP from where was it getting money for the advertisements.
"From where does the BJP get money to give front-page ad in every newspaper. These ads are most expensive and costliest," Ashutosh tweeted.
"My question is that if such ads are not allowed on TV as the campaigning process has ended, why should they be allowed in newspapers? The law should change. If widely circulated papers carry such ads then it will certainly influence minds of people," he said.
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal also questioned the BJP ads, and said: "The BJP has highlighted its seven months achievements in its full page ads today. Do these achievements excite you? Are they as per your expectations?"
