'Killer Miller' returns to form ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, smashing a blistering half-century with a flurry of fours and sixes.

Considered one of the world's best match-finishers, David Miller has returned to form ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Leading the Paarl Royals in the SA20 on Wednesday, 'Killer Miller' played a match-winning innings against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

 

 

The left-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 71 runs off just 38 balls against SEC. Miller hit four fours and five sixes during his innings, scoring at a strike rate of 186.84. Thanks to Miller's innings, the Paarl Royals defeated the Sunrisers Eastern Cape by five wickets with two balls remaining, opening their account in the T20 league.

 

 

Miller's One-Man Show

The seventh match of the league was played between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Paarl Royals in Gqeberha. SEC batted first and scored 149 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, getting all out on the last ball. In reply, the Paarl Royals had a poor start, losing four wickets for just 35 runs.

 

 

From there, Miller played a captain's innings for the Royals and single-handedly turned the match around. The Royals captain didn't give any of the SEC bowlers a chance to settle into a rhythm. Miller unleashed a barrage of fours and sixes with excellent timing, demoralizing the SEC bowlers.

 

 

Royals Open Their Account

Thanks to Miller's courageous innings, the Paarl Royals chased down the target of 150 runs in 19.4 overs, losing five wickets. Thus, the Royals won the match and earned four points. This was Paarl Royals' first win in two matches in the current T20 league. He has moved up to fifth place in the points table with one win and one loss in two matches.

 

 

This was Sunrisers Eastern Cape's first defeat in three matches. However, despite this loss, they remain at the top of the points table with two wins.
