Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu on Monday threatened passengers not to travel on Air India flights from November 1 to 19. According to a report by India Today, he claimed that an Air India flight could be attacked on the 40th anniversary of the Sikh massacre.
Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannu made a similar threat last year as well. Pannu's latest threat comes at a time when Indian planes are receiving bomb threats. However, so far these threats have proved to be just rumors.
India has declared him a terrorist.
Since July 2020, the Home Ministry has declared Pannu a terrorist on charges of treason and separatism. He leads the SFJ, a group advocating for a separate Sikh state. A year earlier, India banned SFJ as an illegal organization for engaging in anti-national activities.
Had given similar threats earlier too
Pannu had claimed in a video in November 2023 that Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport would be renamed and would remain closed on November 19. Even then, he had asked people in the video not to fly with Air India on that day. The National Investigation Agency has registered several criminal cases against him.
