West Bengal SSC Scam: The problems of West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee are increasing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) claims to have seized several admit cards, appointment letters, and property papers during the search at Partha Chatterjee's house.
During the search, several incriminating documents related to immovable properties in the name of Arpita Mukherjee and her companies have been recovered. Apart from this, the ED has also recovered documents related to candidates for recruitment in Class C and Class D services from the house of Partha Chatterjee.

Not only this, but ED also found documents related to the appointment of Group D staff, admit cards of candidates, a summary of final results for the post of Group D staff, intimation letters for verification of testimonials, and one of Indranil Bhattacharya's house searches. Documents related to a personality test for the post of a clerk have also been recovered.

The ED has prepared a list of documents recovered from his house.
CBI also engaged in the investigation
The CBI was looking into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment of non-teaching staff (Group C & D), assistant teachers (classes IX-XII), and primary school teachers. ED is probing the money laundering aspect. Partha Chatterjee was the education minister when the scam was allegedly pulled up.
The CBI questioned him on April 26 and May 18. The ED had arrested him after raiding his Kolkata residence for over 26 hours. In addition, Rs 20 crore in cash was seized from the residential premises of his aide Arpita Mukherjee.
A medical examination conducted after the order of the court
While Chatterjee was remanded to ED custody till July 25, he was admitted to SSKM Super Specialty Hospital for investigation and treatment as per the order of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. A day earlier, the Calcutta High Court had directed the minister to be taken to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar by air ambulance.
A special PMLA court after the medical examination of the accused was prepared by a team of doctors specialists in Cardiology, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine, and Endocrinology. Based on the report, the ED will hear the petition seeking further remand.
