Can the medicine being given to Covid-19 infected adults be given to children or not? Very important information has been given by the government on this on Wednesday. It has been clarified by the government that medicines given to adults infected with corona, such as Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, Favipiravir, and antibiotics such as Doxycycline Azithromycin, cannot be given to children infected with corona.

 

On behalf of the Union Health Ministry, it has been said that most of the medicines used on adults during the treatment of Covid have not yet been tested on children. Therefore the use of these medicines is not allowed. It has been said by the government that there may be an intermittent increase in the cases of coronavirus. It has been said by the government that after the lifting of the lockdown, the reopening of schools, the public, and private sector will have to jointly take up this responsibility so that if the cases of corona increase, then it can be dealt with in time. During this, necessary guidelines made against corona infection should also be followed.

 

It has been said in the guidelines that because of the safety of the children, the Covid-care facility should be increased for the children. This can be increased through the necessary infrastructure. Apart from this, the number of trained doctors and nurses should also be as per the requirement. In the guidelines, the government has advised the health authorities in all districts to promote programs related to pediatric care and to work on the scheme of separate Covid care beds for children.

 

According to the guidelines, it is possible to give treatment at home to children with asymptomatic symptoms. But symptomatic patients can't check fever from time to time, keep an eye on their oxygen and other necessary arrangements at home. Therefore, it has been said to increase beds and increase manpower in children's hospitals. It has been emphasized in the guidelines that ASHA and MPW workers should be engaged in this work. These workers can be deployed to look after the children at home so that they can provide the necessary care to the children at home and refer them to the hospital at the right time.
