In Pune, Maharashtra, a car driver dragged a traffic police constable for nearly 800 meters by hanging him on the bonnet of the car. The accused driver has been arrested after the video of the incident surfaced. He has been booked for violating traffic rules and endangering the life of an employee on duty and attempting to murder.

 

The incident that happened on Saturday is from the Mundwa area of ​​Pune. Constable Sheshrao Jaibhav posted at Mundwa police station was on duty in the afternoon along with some of his associates. Meanwhile, Prashant Sridhar Kantawar (43), a resident of Hadapsar, was seen speeding his car. Seeing him, Constable Sheshrao tried to stop him by giving him his hand. Sridhar stopped the car, but seeing the constable, he said, 'Not a single constable is of any kind, everyone is standing here to collect money.'

On this, Constable Sheshrao asked him for the paper. For not showing the challan of Rs 400 was deducted. Before the constable could get the challan, the car driver pushed his car forward. Seeing him doing this, the constable stood in front of the car. It is alleged that even after this the car driver did not stop and tried to mount the car on the constable. So to save his life, the constable jumped on the bonnet of the car. The car driver dragged the constable for about 800 meters in this situation. Later the constable fell from the car and the driver of the car fled with the car.

 

The arrest happened two days after the incident

After absconding, the police searched for the car driver Sridhar for two days, and finally, he was arrested on Monday evening. The arrested Sridhar says that he did so by mistake. Currently, he is in one-day police custody and the police have registered a case of an attempt to murder him. A video of this incident has also surfaced.
