In his final statement in court, Fu confesses his guilt and pleads guilty. Fu also expressed remorse for what he had done.

In fact, under Chinese law, a sentence of two years or more imprisonment with the death penalty has a special meaning. This means that the death sentence can be commuted to life imprisonment depending on the behavior of the convicted.
