New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) plans to recruit 10,771 personnel by the end of 2015, Director General Arvind Ranjan said on Monday.
"Three to five thousand personnel are recruited every year. As per the increased demand in view of the prevailing security environment, we plan to recruit 10,771 more personnel in our force in 2015," he said at the annual press conference on the eve of the CISF's 46th raising day.
"A total of 8,826 personnel were recruited in 2014," he said at the CISF headquarters in New Delhi.
The CISF was established in 1969 with a strength of 3,129 personnel.
The strength of the force has grown exponentially to reach 1,41,635 and they have been providing security through 313 units in the force's security wing and 91 units in the fire wing.
