Corona Update: 18,375 new cases in the last 24 hours; Newly infected in Kerala decreased by 11%, but recorded the highest number of deaths

There is a slight decrease in the cases of corona since the last day. On Thursday, 18,375 new cases of corona have been reported, while 37 infected people died. Compared to the previous day, 525 fewer cases were reported. At the same time, 15,228 people have been cured of the infection.

 

The number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment in the country has increased to 1 lakh 20 thousand 991. There has been an increase of 10 percent in new cases on Thursday as compared to Wednesday. At the same time, despite a decrease of 11% in new cases in Kerala, it has recorded the highest number of deaths in the country. Kerala is also number one in terms of new infections.

 

Kerala on top among new infected

 

In Thursday's figures, the highest number of cases in the country are coming from Kerala. 3661 new cases were registered in a day. On Thursday, 16 people died due to infection here. With this, the death toll in the state since the beginning of the epidemic has crossed 70 thousand.

 

Highest new cases in five states of the country

 

There are 5 states in the country from where the maximum number of cases are coming. These include Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Karnataka. In West Bengal, there has been a 23% increase in the number of newly infected people compared to the previous day. In the last 24 hours, 2 people have died in Maharashtra. On Wednesday, 3 infected people died in the state. In the statistics of deaths from the initial phase of Corona till now, Maharashtra is leading. In Maharashtra, more than 1 lakh 47 thousand patients have died.

 

Corona cases increased in Shan Ghai, and a month again the situation of lockdown

 

Record new cases of corona have been reported in Shanghai, China, with a population of 25 million. This is the largest number after May in this city of China with a zero Covid policy. After the arrival of new cases, the people of Shanghai have been ordered to undergo PCR tests twice every third day.

 

The lockdown, which lasted for about two and a half months in Shanghai, was lifted on June 1. There the BA.5.2 subvariant has been attributed to new cases of the corona. Due to this, the infection is increasing rapidly. Meanwhile, China has also implemented the Corona Vaccine Mandate for the first time. In the capital Beijing, it has been made mandatory for people to show proof of the vaccine when visiting any public place.
