Cipla, an Indian pharmaceutical company that is planning to treat health problems, especially breathing problems and better treatment of the flu, is yet to offer the treatment of the untreated corona virus in the next six months. If this happens, Cipla could become the first Indian company to invent the Corona virus drug. For this, the company is working on developing corona drugs in collaboration with government laboratories, as well as on the use of medicines related to breathing problems, asthma, anti-viral drugs and HIV drugs. is. Corona virus cases are increasing in the country. So far, 259 cases have been reported.
Cipla promoter Yusuf Hamid told the Times of India, "We are considering our national duty to dump all our resources for the benefit of the country." He said that the company has doubled the production of these drugs. Cipla has already distributed the anti-inflammatory drug Actemra of Switzerland-based company Rochez to India, which will be used to treat serious lung problems. He also said that if the Indian medical world decides, the company has more medicines that can be used.
Cipla's initiative matters
Cipla's initiative matters, as this company's contribution to the treatment of breathing problems, anti-flu and HIV-related problems is very significant. Currently, these drugs may prove effective in the case of corona. Currently, there is no cure for Kovid-19, while it is being treated with HIV, anti-viral and anti-malarial drugs. More than 10,000 people have died of corona worldwide.
Raw material production challenge
Highlighting the new drugs, Hamid said that the production of anti-viral compounds such as favipiravir, ramidacivir and bolaxevir would be started to treat the corona virus. He said, 'We are considering how to make raw materials for these three drugs together with government laboratories. Hamid said that it would take six months to get the medicine after producing the raw material.
He said, 'There are many types of medicines in our portfolio, but we do not know which combination will work. It depends on the discretion of the doctor. Drugs that have yielded better results in corona virus infection and are being tested worldwide include the combination of the antiviral drug remedesavir, two HIV drugs - lopinavir and ritonavir, and the anti-malarial drug chloroquine.
Cipla has already produced Lopimune Tablet, a combination of lopinavir and ritonavir, and is monitoring the developments. Earlier, the Drug Controller General has already approved a 'Restricted Use' of a combination of anti-HIV drugs for the treatment of people infected with Kovid-19. Regarding the availability of these important medicines, Hamid said, 'We have enough of these medicines, but if the corona spreads like an epidemic, it can be a problem. We are worried about uncertainty (virus and its spread). '
