New Delhi, March 4 (IANS) To increase its significant presence in the West, Delhi Art Gallery on Wednesday announced it would be opening its first gallery in New York on March 18.
The 7,000 square feet space in the iconic Fuller Building on New York's Madison Avenue will open with the exhibition "India Modern".
"Indian art has had very little space in America," said Ashish Anand, managing director of the gallery.
"We hope to significantly increase its presence and look forward to sharing Indian modern art with the rest of the world," he added.
Anand also highlighted the fact that Indian modern art has much in common with 20th century artists elsewhere in the West.
