Demand for gift packs expected to increase by 20%: There will be 25% growth in the sale of packaged sweets on Diwali

After two years, this time Diwali is expected to be celebrated without any restrictions. The packaged sweets industry is expected to see a 20-25% increase in sales this Diwali as compared to pre-Covid. In fact, for the packaged sweets industry, festivals have started well with Rakshabandhan. According to the people associated with the industry, this time Raksha Bandhan saw a growth of 15-20% every year, and the same trend has been seen during Navratri as well.

 

Benefits of packaging

Firoz Naqvi, Director General, of the Federation of Sweets and Namkeen Manufacturers said in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that the country's sweets and namkeen industry is getting a lot of benefits from packaging. Customers who had switched to chocolates during festivals are now also switching back to desi sweets because of packaged sweets. Indian sweets manufacturers are now using attractive packaging.

 

Sales of customized gift packs are higher than ever

The sales of customized gift hampers are also showing a significant increase this year. Corporate customers are getting customized gift packs specially designed for their clients. Traders have also made special preparations for this.

 

After Rakshabandhan and Ganesh Chaturthi, now Diwali will also be good

Firoz Naqvi, DG, of the Federation of Sweets and Namkeen Manufacturers says that the festivals of Rakshabandhan, Ganesh Utsav, and Navratri have been very good for the sweets and namkeen industry. The special thing is that almost every sweet and namkeen brand has increased its packaged category and retail shopkeepers are also keeping packaged sweets apart from loose sweets.

 

Ready-to-order gift packs sold out in full, expected to increase by 20%

Packaged food industry consultant Harshvardhan Gupta says that the sale of Diwali gift packs has not been good in the last two years. However, so far this year, all the gift packs prepared on the orders of the industry have been sold out. This year, the sale of gift packs is expected to increase by 15 to 20% as compared to pre-Covid. Corporate customers are putting more emphasis on making customized gift packs.
