An incident of firing has come to light in the US state of Oklahoma on Wednesday. Four people have died and several others have been injured in the shooting at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa city here. The injured are being treated.
Tulsa Deputy Chief of Police Jonathan Brooks confirmed five people were killed, including the attacker. He said that the attacker was shot with his gun, due to which he succumbed to his wounds. As of now the identity of the attacker has not been ascertained. The attacker used a gun and rifle during the firing. The Natalie Building of St. Francis Hospital has been closed following the incident.
President Biden was informed of the incident
Deputy Chief Brooks said that the police reached the spot within 3 minutes of receiving information about the firing. They heard gunshots in the building and reached the second floor. People present during the incident are being questioned.
White House officials said President Joe Biden has been informed of the shooting in Tulsa. State and local authorities have been contacted to help the injured.
Increasing incidents of firing
Incidents of shootings in America are increasing continuously. An elderly woman was killed and two people were injured after a shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in New Orleans on Tuesday. Earlier, two teachers, including 19 students, were killed in a shooting at a school in the state of Texas here.
