Many people here said that they left for the airport much ahead of time due to the lack of public vehicles.

Naik Satish Kumar was supposed to fly to Kolkata and the plane to Kolkata did not take off as the state has decided not to resume air services till May 28. He said, 'I came here from Ambala for a plane going to Kolkata at six in the morning. When it arrived here, it was found that the flight was canceled. Now I am returning home.

 

About 80 flights taking off and landing from Delhi Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi have been canceled on the first day.

Sandeep Singh (19) is a student and studies in Dehradun, who took a ticket of Rs 5,500 to reach Delhi from Dehradun as trains are running full and interstate buses are not running. He said, 'I was in my PG. Parents were very concerned. I am returning home from the first flight.
