yesterday was special
Significantly, after the order of the Allahabad High Court, the ASI team reached Gyanvapi on Friday for the survey. Yesterday was a very special day. The first day's survey was completed on Friday amid high alert in Varanasi. Yesterday, the Muslim side got a bigger blow than the Supreme Court in this matter. The Supreme Court rejected the argument of the Muslim side. Along with this, the ASI survey was given the green signal. After getting the green signal from the Supreme Court and Allahabad High Court, the survey of ASI is going on in Gyanvapi.
Four teams of ASI did the survey
ASI formed four teams for the survey. Two teams started probing the western wall of the complex. One team was deputed to investigate the eastern wall, the other in the northern wall and its adjoining areas. The team used GPR around these walls as well as the exterior walls of the building. The effort was to know whether there are cellars in the outer area as well or if there is solid ground.
By moving the handheld GPR on the ground, the experts were recording the information being received from the machine. The survey was stopped at 5 pm. The 33-member team was led by ADG Alok Tripathi, Additional Director General, ASI. There are more measurement experts and GPR handlers on the team. In the survey conducted on July 24, this number was 43.
The western wall of Gyanvapi is important
The western wall of Gyanvapi and the figures found on it does not match the design of the present building in any way. The wall is full of artifacts found in Hindu temples. A sign in the shape of an elephant's trunk has been found. There are also figures of carvings, swastikas, kalashphool, lotus flowers, etc. made on it. According to the temple side, the western wall is the entrance to the temple of Maa Shringar Gauri.
This evidence was found in the first day's survey
ASI team did not take mining tools to the Gyanvapi campus for the survey. The main focus of the team was on the western wall. Two teams recorded the texture etc. of each figure present on the wall. Videography and photography of the entire proceedings were also done. Plucked the grass on the ground around the wall with his hands. After this, examine the artifacts made on the visible wall. A door in the wall has been closed with stones. Also, check whether the door matches the texture of the wall or not.
Also noticed the closed door on the eastern wall and tried to match it with the texture of the building. All the artifacts seen around the Vujukhana were recorded. The texture and artifacts of the northern wall were also monitored and their texture, shape, etc. were examined. Due to the absence of anyone from the mosque side, the key to the basement and the room under the dome were not found. Along with examining the outer walls, saw Vyas ji's room.
