Milind Bharambe, Police Commissioner of Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, said an investigating officer will be assigned only one big case in a month for quality investigation. He said that his team is ready for the implementation of new criminal laws. Police Commissioner Bharambe said that Navi Mumbai Police was trained to maintain the quality of investigation in cases.
Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe said, "The number of investigating officers in each police station of Navi Mumbai has been increased by 50-60 percent. Personnel were trained at each police station. An officer will be given only one big case in a month to maintain the quality of investigation."
Officers were trained after the implementation of the new criminal law.
Let us tell you that new criminal laws have been implemented in the country from Monday itself. This new law replaced the British-era Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, and Indian Evidence Act. After the implementation of the new criminal law, Navi Mumbai Police started training its personnel.
Milind Bharambe said, "The new criminal laws also have the facility of e-complaint. There is a possibility that the investigating officers may face pressure in the cases, due to which the cases may be pending. In such a situation, the officers will not be able to do proper justice in any case." He further said that officers need more time for quality investigation of the case.
Bharambe said that Navi Mumbai Police has been following the scientific evidence collection system since the implementation of the new criminal law. He said that Navi Mumbai Police has started the 'Yatharth' system. Under this, video recording of victims and the scene of crime is done as part of the investigation to avoid tampering with evidence. Apart from this, Navi Mumbai Police also has the facility of iBike and iCar.
