The sentence of the separatist leader Yasin Malik, who was convicted in the NIA court in the Terror funding case, is about to be announced. The matter is to be debated in Delhi's Patiala House Court on Wednesday as to how much punishment Malik will get. During the hearing on May 19, Yasin confessed to his crime.

In this case, the NIA has demanded capital punishment for Yasin. The court will give its decision after 3:30 pm.

Malik refused to challenge the charges

After being convicted, Malik told the court that he was guilty of sections 16 (terrorist activity), 17 (raising funds for terroristic activities), 18 (conspiracy to commit terrorist acts), and 20 (member of terrorist group or organization) of UAPA. He does not want to challenge the charges against him under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 124-A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code. Malik is imprisoned in Delhi's Tihar Jail since 2019.

Imran calls Yasin's sentence a fascist strategy

Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has opposed the punishment of Yasin Malik. Imran wrote- I strongly condemn the fascist strategy of the Modi government against Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, under which he is being punished on false charges ranging from illegal imprisonment. The international community must act against the state terrorism of the fascist Modi regime.

Tighten the screws on these leaders too

In the last hearing on May 10, the court had said that Malik took money in the name of funding from all over the world to carry out terrorist and other illegal activities in Jammu and Kashmir in the name of independence. Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate, Shabbir Shah, Masarat Alam, Mohammad Yusuf Shah, Aftab Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Naeem Khan, Mohammad Akbar Khande, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, and Naval Kishore Kapoor, among other Kashmiri separatist leaders.

The charge sheet was also filed against Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin, who have been declared absconders in the case.
