The Haryana government will today respond in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on the furlough of Ram Rahim, who is serving a jail term in the Sadhvi harrasement abuse and murder case. On the petition challenging the furlough, the Punjab-Haryana High Court has issued a notice to the government asking why the furlough should not be banned. Today, the Haryana government will hand over the documents to the High Court, based on which it has been decided to grant furlough to Ram Rahim.

Paramjit Singh Sohail, an independent candidate from Punjab\'s Samana, had made serious allegations against the Haryana government while filing a petition in the High Court. The petitioner said that just before the assembly elections in Punjab, Ram Rahim has been given a furlough to take political advantage. Ram Rahim has a deep influence in many seats of Punjab and in such a situation his furlough can disturb the peace in Punjab.

Ram Rahim\'s furlough will also affect the fairness of the election. Even when Ram Rahim was sentenced, there was heavy violence in Panchkula. In such a situation, this decision of the Haryana government is completely wrong. He is not entitled to furlough under the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners Act as he is guilty of serious cases like rape and murder.
