Two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces in the Drgad area of Shopian within a few hours. After the terrorists were killed, the security forces launched a search operation in the area and when it was confirmed that no other terrorists were present there, the security personnel returned from there with the bodies of both the terrorists and the weapons recovered from the encounter site.
Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, while confirming the killing of two terrorists, said that at present one terrorist has been identified. His name was Adil Ahmed Wani and he was active in terrorist activities since July 2020. Not only this, he had killed a poor laborer in Litter, Pulwama. The IGP said that during the ongoing operation against terrorism in Kashmir, so far 15 terrorists have been killed by the security forces within two weeks. This was the third encounter in Shopian during this period. The identity of the second terrorist is also being ascertained.
