Chennai, Jan 4 (IANS) DMK treasurer M.K.Stalin Sunday denied he had resigned from the party or that he was aspiring for a higher party post, saying he was contesting again only for his current post.
"Just to create some confusion in the party, somebody has done this mischief. I not only condemn this but also deny it totally," Stalin told media persons here.
He said he has signed nomination papers only for the post of treasurer.
Rumours had been floating about Stalin resigning his post and he seeking to contest for higher party post in the internal elections.
Similarly signed nomination papers were obtained from party president M.Karunanidhi and general secretary K.Anbazhagan contesting for their current post.
The DMK has called a meeting of its general council Jan 9 here to elect the party president, general secretary, treasurer and other office bearers.
