Uttarakhand: Torrential rains scare in Dehradun, snowfall in Dhanaulti, Badrinath-Yamunotri highway closed

In the capital, Dehradun, the process of intermittent rains from Thursday evening continues till today i.e. Friday. Dark clouds of sky were covered in darkness today and it became dark. After which there was torrential rain with strong roar. Hailstorms also occurred at some places. Dhanaulti has again received snow on Thursday night.

 

 People have been troubled by this intermittent rain for three days. Waterlogging has taken place at many places. Due to inclement weather, the hill areas are getting very cold. Due to which people have been forced to remain imprisoned in homes. At the same time, Thursday night rains continue in Mussoorie. It is freezing there.

It is raining in all the tehsil areas of Uttarkashi district. Gangotri National Highway was closed due to debris near Dharasu. Which has been made smooth by BRO. The Yamunotri highway has been blocked due to a hill break near Damta. Debris has also occurred near Kuthnore on the highway. The work of opening the highway is going on from the war level. Yamunotridham and the surrounding area has been experiencing snowfall since night. On the other hand, continuous rains in low-lying areas and Yamunaghati increased the cold.

Snowfall in altitude areas including Badrinath, Hemkund

In Chamoli district, the rain has stopped. There is snowfall in the altitude areas including Badrinath, Hemkund. Badrinath National Highway was closed due to debris near the three streams. Which was later opened. However, there is still continuous debris falling from the hill here. New Tehri continued to rain heavily till Thursday morning. It is cloudy at the moment. The rain is closed in Srinagar and surrounding areas. But there are clouds in the sky.

In Haridwar, there was hailstorm this morning with strong rains. Sleeping twice in the morning. Due to incessant rains, people here are now disturbed. People are frightened by the strong roaring with rain. This time the weather has hit the farmers. The unseasonal rains have ruined farmers' crops.

 

Kumaon is receiving rains in most areas including Champawat, Bhimtal, Lohaghat, Mukteswar, Nainital, Pantnagar, Almora, Rudrapur, Jaspur, Tanakpur, Ramnagar, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. On the other hand, snowfall has been reported in the high Himalayan areas on Thursday night.

Madamaheshwar, Tungnath, Chandrashila and other high peaks received light snowfall and rain in the lower regions, leading to increased cold. Rudraprayag district headquarters including Tilwara, Agastyamuni, Jakholi, Mayali, Ukhimath, Guptkashi, Jakholi, Fata, Chopta, Chopra etc. are getting cold due to rains. High-altitude areas like Gangotri, Yamunotri Dham, Mukhba, Harshil, Dharali, Sukki, Jankichatti, Kharsali etc. also received snowfall on Thursday. At the same time, Chakrata hills were also covered with white sheets of snow. The State Meteorological Center has forecast heavy rain, hailstorm and thunderstorm at a speed of 45-55 kmph in the next 24 hours in Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udhamsingh Nagar. Snowfall may occur in areas with an altitude of more than 25 hundred meters.
