So I guess I could lie and say I tried,

But the truth I can't deny,

I loved you, but you were beyond my reach.

You were a battle I couldn't defeat.

You were the brightest star in my sky

But also the farthest.

It was a coincidence that brought us together

And fate that tore us apart.
