There has been a stir in Kerala after the case of human sacrifice due to black magic came to light. On Wednesday, the police made several sensational revelations in this case. Police said that a total of 56 pieces of a dead body were made. Kochi commissioner CH Nagaraju told a press conference that the main accused Shafi had a criminal past and implicated the couple - Bhagwal Singh and his wife Laila, who made the sacrifice for money. Describing Shafi as a psychopath, the commissioner said an inquiry would be conducted as to how he convinced the couple. On the other hand, the police further stated that the couple has no criminal past.

The commissioner said that the victims were brutally killed. The body parts were buried in different parts of the premises of Bhagwal Singh's house. The private parts of the victims were also injured. Also, Shafi took pleasure in torturing the victims. Laila, one of the accused, has confessed that they (the three of them) cooked and ate a portion of the victim's body. The three accused were produced in court and sent to judicial custody for two weeks.
Shafi brainwashed the couple
The sensational incident came to light on Tuesday when the police were probing the missing complaint. Following leads, the police found that Tantrik Mohammad Shafi brainwashed a couple to perform human sacrifices and promised them financial benefits. This was his second victim, while the first victim was another woman who was killed in June.
Shafi prepares the couple for the second sacrifice
The main accused Shafi is a hardcore criminal and is facing eight cases in different police stations, police said. The list of his crimes includes rape, trespass, drunken brawls, and cheating. Police said he changed his home every year to bluff the police and mostly stayed in the camps. He used social media to fool people. The couple got in touch with him and paid Rs 1.50 lakh for the 'ritual' which also included human sacrifice. After the first sacrifice in June, when the couple did not see any financial improvement and went to Shafi and then Shafi made them take the second sacrifice.
