G20 Bali Summit: Xi Jinping can meet the Japanese Prime Minister, both are attending the G-20 summit

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are attending the G-20 summit. Before this meeting, the spokesperson of the Government of Japan said on Monday that Japan is trying to arrange a meeting between the two leaders.

 

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno was addressing a routine news conference. During this, he said, both Kishida and Xi are scheduled to participate in the Group of 20 (G20) summit starting in Bali on Tuesday.

 

The G20 conference starting today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G20 conference starting today in Indonesia. PM Modi will leave for Mali, Indonesia today itself to participate in the conference. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping will also attend the summit, but before that he will have a long-awaited bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden in Mali. In this meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss Taiwan, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and North Korea's nuclear ambitions. Please tell me that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend this conference.

 

Significantly, the G20 is the leading forum for international economic cooperation and plays an important role in giving and strengthening the views of global governments on all major international economic and development issues. During this summit, Prime Minister Modi and other G20 leaders will hold wide-ranging discussions on all major issues including the state of the global economy, energy, environment, agriculture, health, digital transformation, etc.

 

The next meeting will be held in India in September 2023

Since India is the next head of the G-20 organization and its next meeting is going to be held in New Delhi in September 2023, in this context, PM Modi plans to meet as many leaders in Bali and invite them to visit India. . During this, issues like Russia-Ukraine war and tension with China are also likely to dominate the summit. PM Modi will be in Bali from 14 to 16 November. The G-20 summit is on 15-16 November.

 

The summit will be held in three sessions

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra told that the summit will be held in three sessions and PM Modi will participate in these three sessions along with other world leaders. Asked which global leaders will meet PM Modi, Kwatra said that talks are being held with the countries concerned about this and the program is being finalized.

 

Fixed meetings with heads of state of many countries

Some other diplomatic sources have informed that PM Modi's meeting with Britain's PM Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macra, besides the Chancellor of Germany, the President of Indonesia has been fixed. There is also a discussion in the diplomatic circle about the talks between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The US State Department has also told that President Biden and PM Modi will meet each other.

 

The Russo-Ukraine war can also be discussed

Kwatra informed that three separate sessions on the food and energy crisis, health, and digital transformation are to be held at the Bali summit. It is believed that countries like America, Britain, France, and Germany will try their best to surround Russia for the attack on Ukraine and Russia will be put in the dock for the current food and energy crisis.

 

G-20 countries represent two-thirds of the world's population

The G20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies. This includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union. The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation, representing approximately 85 percent of global GDP, more than 75 percent of global trade, and nearly two-thirds of the world's population. Indonesia is the current chair of the G-20. India will formally assume the presidency of the G-20 on December 1.

 

Modi will participate in 20 programs during 45 hours in Indonesia

Prime Minister Modi's visit to Indonesia will be short but important. During his 45-hour stay in Bali, Modi will participate in 20 events. He will also attend a community event to connect with the Indian diaspora in Indonesia. An official source said the Prime Minister's visit to Bali would be hectic and fruitful.
