New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) The AAP Wednesday announced that former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri's grandson Adarsh Shastri will contest the Lok Sabha election from Allahabad.
Releasing the names of 19 more candidates, the Aam Aadmi Party also said that former Chhattisgarh High Court judge Fakhruddin will take on Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli.
Shastri, who was earlier expected to be fielded in Lucknow, will take on Bharatiya Janata Party's Shyama Charan Gupta and Nand Gopal Gupta of the Congress.
Ten of the candidates announced Wednesday will contest in Uttar Pradesh, three in Chhattisgarh, two each in Punjab and Gujarat, and one each in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
With this, the AAP has announced a total of 444 candidates for the Lok Sabha election.
