Aditya L-1 will be placed in orbit near the Langres point. A Langres point refers to a point in space where a field of attraction and repulsion arises due to the gravitational force of two space bodies such as the Sun and the Earth. It is named after the Italo-French mathematician Joseph-Louis Lagrange.
How many payloads will Aditya L-1 carry?
Aditya L-1 will reach its destination with seven payloads. Through these payloads, ISRO will be helped in the study of photosphere (light circle), chromosphere i.e. the surface just above the visible surface of the Sun and the corona (outermost layer of the Sun).
From where will Aditya L-1 be launched?
Aditya L-1 will be launched via PSLV-C57 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Earlier Chandrayaan-3 was also launched from here.
