New Delhi, March 23 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on Pakistan's National Day and said that "all outstanding issues can be resolved through bilateral dialogue".
"It is my firm conviction that all outstanding issues can be resolved through bilateral dialogue in an atmosphere free from terror & violence," tweeted Modi.
In another tweet, Modi said he has written to Nawaz Sharif and conveyed his greetings on the National Day of Pakistan.
Also known as Pakistan Day, the National Day is observed to commemorate the passage of the Lahore Resolution of 1940, now called the Pakistan Resolution on March 23, 1940.
The resolution called for the creation of independent states for Muslims in north-western and eastern British India.
