Another new revelation has emerged regarding the blast near Delhi's Red Fort. The investigation has revealed that the suspect, Dr. Umar Mohammad, was frightened by the action taken in Faridabad. This panic led him to carry out the blast in Delhi. According to investigating agencies, an IED was planted in the car. It was a suicide attack. The investigation has also revealed that the blast is linked to the Faridabad terrorist module.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police will conduct a DNA test on the body found in the car at the scene to determine whether the person in the car was Dr. Umar Mohammad or someone else. Intelligence agencies suspect it was Umar Mohammad, and CCTV footage of the incident has also been released.
After the recovery of a large quantity of ammonium nitrate from Faridabad, agencies were searching for Dr. Umar Mohammad. The investigation has revealed that the person driving the car also had links to the Faridabad terrorist module. According to sources, Dr. Umar Mohammad, a resident of Pulwama, was allegedly driving the Hyundai i20 car used in the blast near the Red Fort Metro station parking area.
Police sources said preliminary investigations suggest that ammonium nitrate, fuel oil, and detonators may have been used in the explosion near the Red Fort.

After the arrest of his fellow doctors who were part of the terrorist module, Umar Mohammad allegedly carried out the terrorist attack out of fear that he too might be captured.
They said that Umar Mohammad, a doctor by profession, was allegedly associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist module. According to sources, a man named Tariq, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, who has been arrested, had provided the Hyundai i20 car to Umar Mohammad.
Sources stated that after the arrest of his fellow doctors who were part of the terrorist module, Umar Mohammad allegedly carried out the terrorist attack out of fear of being caught. Following the blast, security has been increased in the national capital, and vehicle checks have been intensified at all border checkpoints.
A police source stated that several teams have been deployed to scan CCTV footage from the Red Fort and surrounding roads to gather more information about the suspect driving the Hyundai i20 car that exploded. Sources stated that it has also been revealed that the car was parked in a nearby parking lot for three hours before the explosion. Footage from various parking locations is also being examined.
Police have registered an FIR in the case, and several teams from the Special Cell, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and local police are investigating the circumstances of the blast. The source said they are also investigating whether it could be a "suicide bombing" or a larger terrorist plot.
Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha stated that the explosion occurred at around 6:52 p.m. in a Hyundai i20 car that was moving slowly at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro station. He said, "The vehicle was carrying passengers. Other nearby vehicles were also damaged in the blast. Teams from the Delhi Police, FSL, NIA, and NSG inspected the scene and are assessing the situation."
Officials said the explosion was so powerful that it reduced several vehicles to ashes and shattered the windows of nearby cars, buildings, and the metro station. According to the Delhi Fire Service, ten fire engines reached the spot and the fire was brought under control by 7:29 p.m.
