Assam Flood: Flood wreaks havoc in Assam, death toll rises to 93; What is the situation in the state in the last 24 hours?

Assam Flood: People's lives have been disrupted due to floods after rain in Assam. Giving information, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority said that the death toll due to floods in the state has exceeded 90.

 

At the same time, two people died in Karimganj district in the last 24 hours. According to the ASDMA flood report, two people, including a child, died in Karimganj district on Sunday, taking the total death toll to 93.

 

The situation in 18 districts is very bad

 

The flood situation in the state has improved marginally. Flood waters are receding in various parts, but about 5.98 lakh people in 18 districts - Cachar, Nalbari, Kamrup, Golaghat, Morigaon, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Dhubri, Goalpara, Nagaon, Karimganj, Kamrup (M), Dhemaji, Majuli, Darang, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Vishwanath are still affected by the floods.

 

1342 villages are still submerged

 

According to the ASDMA flood report, 1342 villages under 52 revenue circles are still submerged and 25367.61 hectares of crop area have been submerged in flood waters. The water level of the Brahmaputra River is flowing above the danger mark in Nematighat, Tezpur, and Dhubri. More than 58,000 people are still taking shelter in 172 relief camps and distribution centers in 13 districts. 283712 pets have also been affected by the floods.

232 animals were swept away

 

161 houses were completely damaged

 

6663 houses and 13 roads partially damaged

 

196 animals including 10 rhinos died in Kaziranga National Park

 

143 animals including 2 rhino calves and 2 elephant calves rescued

 

26 forest camps in the park are still submerged in water
