A young man killed his girlfriend by slitting her throat at Azamgarh railway station on Thursday evening. The young man admitted to the Mandial Hospital said that he had married the girl, but due to the excesses of the family members, he had to take extreme steps. A girl from a village in the Bilariaganj area had alighted on platform number one from Mumbai-bound Godan Express. Dhananjay, a resident of Gadsar Shahpur village of Jahanaganj, had reached the same train chasing the girl. The girl's relatives were thinking of getting out of the station when Dhananjay reached her and slit her throat with a knife. The family members rushed to the hospital with the girl. When the police ran after hearing the screams, Dhananjay also bled himself with the same knife.
