Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Election Commission of India has taken a special initiative to increase the voting percentage in the Lok Sabha elections. Now the Commission will give incentive amounts to BLOs at booth level and other personnel who encourage voters to vote. Jeevika Didi, Asha, and other workers will also benefit from this. Besides, instructions have also been given to provide vehicle facility at each booth to the voters above 85 years of age to reach the booth.
The amount of the incentive amount is yet to be announced.
However, the amount of incentive has not been decided yet. Soon a decision on this will be taken and the districts will be informed. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) HR Srinivas held a review meeting with all the district election officers on Tuesday regarding increasing voting in all phases of the Lok Sabha elections. He asked the District Election Officers to run a campaign to appeal for voting by making personal contact from door to door.
Information about basic facilities was taken at the booths
On the lines of the door-to-door Dastak campaign in Patna, contact the voters personally and appeal for voting. In the review meeting, information about basic facilities at all the booths was taken. Also, the District Election Officers were instructed that given the heat at the booth, arrangements for sheds and drinking water should be ensured under all circumstances.
Where booths have been set up in buildings, an adequate number of furniture should be arranged, so that voters can sit there and wait for their turn. Two home guards should be deployed at every booth to keep voters in queue. Also, selfie points should be made at the booths, so that voters can take their photos after casting their vote.
