"Kantara Chapter 1" was released in theaters on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The film grossed a staggering ₹60 crore on its first day. Following the film's release today, the filmmakers have made a special appeal to their audiences to protect the film from piracy.

Hombale Films shared a special note on X today, writing, "Dear 'Kantara' family and cinema lovers, 'Kantara Chapter 1' is as much yours as it is ours. Your love has made it truly unforgettable. We humbly request that you refrain from sharing or recording videos of the film and encourage piracy. Let's keep the magic of "Kantara" alive in theaters so everyone can experience it the way it should be. Experience #KantaraChapter1 only in theaters."

 

About "Kantara Chapter 1"

"Kantara Chapter 1" is an Indian Kannada-language action thriller film. The film is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, it is a prequel to the 2022 film "Kantara." Rishab Shetty plays the lead role in the film. The film is receiving widespread praise from audiences.

"Kantara Chapter 1" opened its box office collections on Thursday with a whopping ₹60 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) on its first day. The film has already earned ₹6.72 crore (approximately $1.6 billion) on its second day, a figure that will translate into a total of ₹66.72 crore (approximately $1.6 billion) at the box office.
