Srinagar, Jan 17 (IANS) Bright sunshine Saturday brought relief to people as day temperatures improved across Jammu and Kashmir.
The maximum temperature in Srinagar was 11.84 degrees Celsius Friday, five notches above the season's average, a met department official said.
However, the minimum temperature dipped below freezing point due to a clear sky.
"The minimum temperature in Srinagar was minus 3.3 degrees Celsius and in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, it was minus 7.4 degrees Celsius and minus 6.2 degree Celsius respectively," the official said.
The minimum temperature is expected to dip further as weather is likely to remain dry during the next two days to Monday.
Kargil town of Ladakh region remained the coldest in the state with the minimum temperature at minus 15.8 degrees Celsius Saturday. The minimum temperature in Leh town was minus 15.1 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Jammu was 6.2 degrees Celsius.
