A team of Special Forces 'Mumbai One' has been deployed outside the hotel and in the area of Gate Way of India. The guests coming here and their activities are being monitored.
Two phone calls received
Two phone calls were made to blow up the Taj Hotel. The first call was made at the Taj Hotel around 12 pm and the second one was at Bandra's Hotel Taj Lands End. It is being told that calls were made from the same number in both places, which was from Pakistan. The person calling called his name Sultan. The caller has also given his WhatsApp number to the hotel worker. Police are now removing the details of the caller.
166 people were killed in 26/11 attacks
Some terrorists also managed to sneak into the Taj Hotel in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. This was the longest encounter between the terrorists and the security forces. The terrorists had taken many guests hostage, including 7 foreign nationals. The heritage wing of the Taj Hotel was set on fire. More than 166 people were killed and more than 300 were injured in Mumbai in this attack which lasted nearly 60 hours. 28 foreign nationals were also among those who died.
