A strange incident happened on the second and last day of the G-20 summit that ended on Wednesday in Bali, Indonesia. After the summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got into an argument in front of media cameras. Jinping told Trudeau in a complaining tone why the conversation with you gets leaked in the media. To this Trudeau also replied with a smile but sternly that we do not believe in hiding anything and this is how it happens in Canada.
During the debate, the body language of both the leaders and especially Jinping looked completely different. He was talking in Mandarin (the language of China). The accompanying interpreter (interpreter or translator) was conveying his talk to Trudeau in English.
What happened after all?
Trudeau was leaving the hall after the summit was over. Then Xi Jinping came in front of him. Both shook hands. At the very beginning of the conversation, Jinping looked disheveled. Most of the conversation between the two is heard in the video going viral.
Jinping started the conversation in a harsh and complaining tone. Said- Whatever we talk about, it gets leaked in the media. This is wrong. This should not happen at all, because there cannot be a conversation like this. You should act seriously.
Trudeau responded to Jinping's complaint mildly. Said- We believe in open and free dialogue and will continue to do so in the future. There should be a constructive dialogue, but sometimes there are different views on some issues. We don't hide anything.
Jinping got angry again at this talk of Trudeau. Said- Then do such a thing that before the conversation, fix the conditions. After saying this, Jinping reluctantly shook hands with Trudeau and left.
bitter is old
On Tuesday, the first day of the summit, Trudeau told Jinping that China was trying to interfere in his country's elections. This mutual conversation between the two leaders was released by the news agency Reuters. Jinping got upset about this and on Wednesday he openly expressed his displeasure in front of the cameras.
Earlier this month, the Canadian media made an important disclosure quoting intelligence officers. According to this, China had interfered in the 2019 elections in Canada under a conspiracy. In this case, the Canadian police had also arrested a citizen of his country working for a Chinese company. It is alleged that he used to deliver Canadian trade secrets to China.
talks going on
Jinping and Trudeau met 3 years ago during the G-20 Summit in Osaka, Japan. Earlier in 2015, both leaders had met in Turkey. Even then there was the G-20 summit. Apart from this, Jinping-Trudeau held talks in 2016 and 2017 as well.
The tension in the relationship between China and Canada came in 2018. Then two officers of China's infamous Huawei Electronics Company were arrested by Canada on charges of espionage. In response, China put two Canadian citizens in jail on false charges.
The special thing is that Huawei Electronics and Technology was accused of espionage in many countries including America and it was banned in all countries including India. This angered China.
By the way, during this summit, there was a secret meeting between Jinping and US President Joe Biden for about 3 hours. Not much information has been given to the media about this.
