Chitra Ramakrishna, former MD of NSE, is getting into trouble after the SEBI report. The Central Bureau of Investigation today interrogated Chitra in the NSE scam of the year 2018 in Mumbai. Along with this, the CBI has also issued a lookout notice against Chitra (Chitra Ramakrishna) and two of his former associates Anand Subramaniam and Ravi Narayan. Which means that these people can no longer leave the country. Earlier, the Income Tax Department had raided Chitra's premises.
A top CBI official said that Chitra Ramakrishna, former MD of NSE, was called for questioning at CBI's Mumbai office today. This inquiry is being done based on an FIR lodged against him in May 2018. In this FIR, the officials of the National Stock Exchange were accused of giving undue benefits to some brokers, due to which the common investors including the National Stock Exchange had suffered huge losses.
A senior CBI official said that Chitra is being questioned about the new facts that have come to light based on the SEBI report. Keep in mind that Chitra Ramakrishna once again came under the scanner after an order was issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India recently. In this order, SEBI had categorically stated that it had appointed Anand Subramaniam as Group Operating Officer and advisor to the Managing Director in the exchange under the influence of a Baba living in the Himalayas.
It is also alleged that Anand Subramaniam had no experience of this line. In this case, SEBI has termed this appointment as an allegation of violation of rules. For this, SEBI had also imposed a fine of Rs 3 crore on Ramakrishna, Ravi Narayan, former CEO of National Stock Exchange, and Rs 2/2 crore on Anand Subramaniam. Chitra Ramakrishna was the MD and CEO of the National Stock Exchange from April 2013 to December 2016. After this SEBI report, there were allegations on Chitra that she also shared many secret information about the National Stock Exchange and also went on a foreign tour with this alleged Baba.
After this, the Income Tax Department had raided the premises of Chitra this week. According to a senior CBI official, based on the latest twist in the development based on the SEBI report, Chitra is being questioned whether the allegations that have come to the fore in this registered case of the year 2018 are also related to that alleged Baba. Was aware and what was the role of Anand Subramaniam and others in this matter.
A senior CBI official said that based on the new developments, Chitra Ramakrishna, former Managing Director of National Stock Exchange, also issued a lookout circular against Ravi Narayan, former CEO of National Stock Exchange, and Anand Subramaniam, former CEO of National Stock Exchange. Has gone. The CBI suspects that these people may leave the country and abscond, so this notice has been issued on this basis. According to CBI sources, soon both the other people will also be called for questioning in this case. The inspection of the matter is going on.
