The second wave of Covid is going on in the country. To deal with this, India is buying goods from all over the world, but suppliers from neighboring countries are taking advantage of the opportunity in the disaster. Chinese suppliers have increased the prices of Covid containment goods by leaps and bounds. In Hong Kong, India's council general Priyanka Chauhan has protested in front of China over the price hike. Speaking to the Chinese newspaper South China Morning Post, Priyanka Chauhan said that India hopes that China will control the prices of the products in the fight against Covid-19.

The supply chain must be open

Priyanka said, "We hope that in such a situation the supply chain should remain open and the prices of products should remain stable." He said that there is some pressure on supply-demand right now. In such a situation, there should be some stability in the prices of the products. There should be a sense of support and efforts at the government level as well.

Priyanka said, "I am not aware of how much influence the Chinese government can have in this case, but if they can do it, it is welcome."

Prices of Covid related goods reached the sky

Sources say that Chinese suppliers have skyrocketed the prices of Covid related items. For example- a 10-liter oxygen concentrator with an average price of $ 200 has reached $ 1000. Many suppliers are offering oxygen concentrators for $ 1200. In recent times, Chinese suppliers have arbitrarily canceled contracts. Many suppliers are offering 5 liters or 8-liter concentrators for a 10-liter concentrator. In 2020, the price of ventilators had increased from $ 6000 to 30 thousand dollars.

China blocks supply corridors

The second problem is that the Chinese government has blocked the supply corridor. For example- the Chinese government has banned the flight of government airlines Sichuan Airlines from India. The matter needs to be taken up by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in front of the Chinese Foreign Minister. So that the supply bottleneck can be removed. The Chinese government has banned the flight of Sichuan Airlines from 10 cities in India.

Pharma suppliers cancel contracts

According to sources, China's pharma suppliers abruptly canceled the contracts. Now China's pharma suppliers are offering raw materials of drugs like Remdesvir and Favipiravir through auction. Whereas, the Red Cross Society of China is donating to its Indian unit. The Chinese embassy has also said through social media posts that oxygen concentrators are being sent to India. Chinese officials say the supply line is open and the prices of the products are stable.
