Chandigarh, Jan 1 (IANS) There was a let up in the cold wave conditions and fog in some parts of Punjab and Haryana on New Year's day, weather officials said here.
The minimum temperatures recorded Thursday morning were between four and seven degrees Celsius at some places.
Amritsar in Punjab and Hisar in Haryana recorded minimum temperatures of two and three degrees Celsius respectively, making them the coldest in the region. The maximum temperature in Hisar was 13.8 degrees Celsius, eight notches below average.
Chandigarh woke up to another bright and sunny Thursday morning. The minimum temperature was seven degrees Celsius. The city recorded a high of 20.7 degrees Celsius Wednesday, making the day a little warm.
Fog was reported in some places in Punjab and Haryana.
