The increasing cases of Covid-19 infection have once again raised concerns. More than a 50 percent increase has been registered in new cases of infection, especially in the capital of the country and NCR. Seeing the sudden spurt in the cases, the government machinery has swung into action. Health Ministry officials say that there is no need to panic due to the increase in cases, but it has become necessary to be vigilant. Some steps can be taken soon.
According to information received from sources, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) may make the wearing of masks mandatory in the meeting to be held this week. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal can also participate in this meeting.
Rapidly increased infection rate in NCR
The infection rate is increasing rapidly in NCR. In Gurugram, this rate has reached 19.1 percent, in Gautam Budh Nagar 7.65 percent and in Faridabad, it has reached 5.5 percent. Health experts believe that after the complete lifting of the restrictions on movement, the cases of infection have increased again. Omicron and other forms of SARS-CoV-2 infect the upper respiratory tract in people.
Apart from Delhi, Mumbai is also alert
The share of Delhi-NCR in the total cases of new infections in the country on April 1 was 11.8 percent, which increased to 52.5 percent on April 16. Because of this, the situation can get out of control at any time. Keeping this in mind, along with Delhi, the capital of Maharashtra, Mumbai has also been kept on alert. The local administration has reopened all testing centers and started free testing.
RT-PCR test necessary in case of cold
All the doctors have also been instructed that all the patients with colds and colds should be sent for RT-PCR test. At the same time, the government has also ordered all private and government hospitals to be ready to make Covid-19 wards with full capacity at 48 hours\' notice. At present, health screening of passengers coming from Delhi is not being done in Mumbai, although a gene survey of samples is being done in Mumbai.
Apart from five states, there are also scare cases in UP, Punjab, and Haryana.
Due to the increasing infection in many states of the country, the Union Health Ministry has swung into action. On April 8, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote a letter to the Chief Secretaries of Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala, Haryana, and Mizoram on this matter. These are the areas from where the maximum number of infection cases were coming. Bhushan has said in his letter that these state governments should keep a close watch on the situation and be ready for appropriate measures as the cases of Covid increase. Apart from increasing surveillance in zones around new corona patients, the Health Secretary has also asked to increase the speed of vaccination. Here, the figures of Corona coming out from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana are also intimidating. In just three days, the number of new cases here has increased rapidly. On April 14, 90 cases of the corona were reported in UP, while 135 cases were reported on Sunday. Only 11 cases were reported in Punjab on 14 April and 8 were found infected on 17 April. Similarly, on April 14, 170 patients were found in Haryana, while 191 patients were found on Sunday.
Vigilance is necessary even in the endemic stage of the epidemic
Health experts say that there will be slight fluctuations in the cases of the corona. Therefore, the trend of increasing cases is not a cause for concern, but the corona is a global pandemic. In such a situation, it does not come under control in the whole world. Till then we have to be cautious. The virus is constantly mutating, in which case it can change into a new variant at any time, which can bother us. Therefore, even though the penalty has been removed for not applying the mask, it does not mean that we should not wear it, people need to keep the mask on. Because it will protect against diseases other than corona as well.
nothing to worry
On the apprehension of the fourth wave, doctors say that even though the cases are increasing slightly, there is nothing to panic about this. The rise in corona cases is not a cause for concern. It is just necessary that hospitalization and deaths do not increase. If both these things are under control then corona is just like the normal flu. So, we don\'t need to be very panic about this. For the time being, the surveillance regarding Covid must be increased and the graph of Corona should be monitored for the next few days.
Dr. Jugal Kishore, Head of the Community Medicine Department of Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, told there is a need to keep an eye on the increasing cases of the corona. At present, the graph of infection in these states will have to be seen for a few days. There may be slight fluctuations, but if the cases continue to rise, it can be a cause for concern. In this situation, the rules of prevention of infection will have to be strictly implemented. The corona epidemic in the country is currently in the endemic stage. There are slight ups and downs in the case. At the moment people must be alert about Covid and follow the rules of wearing masks.
90% of cases jump in one day
According to the data of the Ministry of Health, the country has seen a jump of about 90 percent in daily Covid cases compared to Sunday. Till Monday morning, 2,183 fresh infections of the corona were registered in the country in the last 24 hours. This is the first time in almost a month that more than 2,000 cases of corona have been registered in a single day in the country. In the last 24 hours, 214 people have died due to corona in the whole country. In this, the death toll of 213 people is associated with Corona in Kerala alone. These figures are from the backlog. That is, these are the deaths that were not reported. Later it became clear that these deaths were due to Covid.
Covid restrictions eased drastically?
So far, 5,21,965 people have died due to corona in the country. The total number of Covid cases in India has now reached 4.30 crores. According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.83 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.32 percent. On Sunday, 1,150 cases of coronavirus were reported across the country and four deaths were reported from across the country. 517 cases of corona have been registered in Delhi. A day earlier, 461 new corona patients had appeared in the city. Kerala recorded the highest number of cases at 940.
Covid restrictions were eased across the country in the last few weeks. Because after the third wave in January, there was a steady decline in infections. While experts warned not to relax the Covid rules, as the corona is spreading anew in many European countries and China including Germany, France, and Italy. Apart from this, WHO recently issued an alert regarding a new XE variant of Corona. Two of its cases have been found in Mumbai and Gujarat. This time the rising corona cases are being seen as the fourth wave. The greatest effect has been seen on children. Because of the situation, the Delhi government has said in one of its advisories that if even a single case of corona comes to the school, the government will have to inform it.
