197 cases of black fungus
On the other hand, Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Friday said that 197 cases of black fungus were reported in hospitals in Delhi till Wednesday night. He said that these include patients who are coming from outside and are being treated in hospitals here. Without warning from doctors, Covid-19 cautioned against taking Steroids by patients. He said that it is very dangerous. Taking steroids reduces the immunity of patients. Black fungus is found in soil or rotting material inside the home and does not affect healthy individuals, but those with impaired immunity are at greater risk of becoming infected.
Many vaccination centers closed
The minister said that the center vaccinating people aged 18 to 44 in Delhi was closed on Friday as there is a shortage of vaccines for this age group in the national capital. He said that the dose of covaxin in Delhi had expired several days earlier. Covishield supplements are also running out. Many centers have been closed today. He said that there is a shortage of amphotericin-B injections used in the treatment of black fungus or mucormycosis throughout the country. The center is expected to get 2000 injections to Delhi which will be given to these hospitals.
