The US has geared up to protect against Omicron, the new variant of the coronavirus first found in South Africa. On the other hand, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the President's Chief Medical Adviser, has said that Omicron appears to be spreading the infection more rapidly than all other variants of Corona found so far. Based on the facts revealed so far, it also seems that this variant can bypass the monoclonal antibodies (immunity produced naturally in the body due to corona infection) and for this reason, it can prove to be slightly fatal. There is also the possibility that it may also betray the antibodies produced by the vaccine.
