COVID-19: 20 percent of the country's adult population received both doses of the vaccine, 62 percent took the first dose

20 percent of the country's adult population has received both doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine, while 62 percent have received at least one dose. The government gave this information today. Along with this, the Ministry of Health said that even now the maximum number of cases are being reported in Kerala.

 

 

Kerala, the only state with more than one lakh under-treatment patients, accounted for 67.79 percent of the total COVID-19 cases reported in the country last week. Of the total cases, 68 percent are coming from Kerala alone. There are 1.99 lakh active cases here. While five other states Mizoram, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra have more than 10 active cases.

 

Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary in the Ministry of Health, said that in 34 districts of the country, the weekly infection rate remains above 10 percent. Whereas in 32 districts, this rate is between 5-10 percent. Rajesh Bhushan said that for the last 11 weeks, the infection rate has remained less than three percent. In 64 districts, the infection rate is above 5 percent. Such districts remain a matter of concern and there will have to be a strict vigil on vaccination, surveillance, the behavior of people.

Rajesh Bhushan informed that 3631 PSA plants are being started in the country. They will be able to provide 4500 metric tonnes of medical oxygen. In this, 1491 plants are being built from central resources and 2140 plants from states and other resources.

ICMR DG Dr. Balram Bhargava said that the biggest need of the hour is firstly the acceptance of the vaccine and secondly, following the behavior according to Covid-19, thirdly traveling with responsibility and fourthly celebrating the festivals with care.

He said that as festivals are around the corner, the government is emphasizing the acceptability of vaccines, COVID-19 friendly behavior, traveling in a responsible manner, and celebrating the festival responsibly.

 

No booster dose planned

Dr. Bhargava said that the booster dose is not included in the plan of the center. Our priority is to ensure that everyone gets both doses of the vaccine. Several agencies have recommended that antibody levels should not be measured.

 

Along with this, NITI Aayog member Dr. VK Paul said that Mizoram is a matter of concern. In the coming 2-3 months, we have to be careful against any increase in corona cases. We request everyone to be careful in the coming quarter.

 

Dengue spread in these states

At the same time, on the question of spreading dengue, the Health Secretary said that wherever water stagnates, Aedes mosquitoes breed and that is why dengue spreads. Every year a rescue program is conducted. We are located in Delhi, Haryana, P. Dengue outbreaks have been reported in Bengal, UP, Gujarat, and Assam.
