Rescue operations continue to find missing people in Mizoram
Due to heavy rains in Mizoram, a mine collapsed on the outskirts of the capital Aizawl on Tuesday. 27 people died in this accident, out of which 25 bodies were recovered. An operation was launched on Wednesday to find missing people in many places. Many people went missing due to landslides. 25 personnel from the 3rd MAP, 22 personnel from the 1st MAP, and 10 personnel from the 5th IR Battalion have been deployed at the site for rescue operations.

Five people were rescued in Hlimen in Aizawl district, while four are still missing. Rescue operations are on to trace the missing persons. A building collapsed due to a landslide in Salem Veng, leaving three people missing. Their bodies were later recovered.
One body each was recovered from Phalcon, Lungsei, and Kelsih in the Aizawl district. Aizawl was cut off from the rest of the country due to a landslide on National Highway 6 in Hunthar due to the impact of heavy rains. Mizoram's Chief Minister has said that the government has sanctioned Rs 15 crore for compensation for losses caused by the disaster and relief work. The state government has also provided help to the affected families. The state government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.
