New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) BJP parliamentarian Meenakshi Lekhi Wednesday said that only a "woman chief minister with administrative experience" can ensure the safety of women in the national capital.
Urging people, especially the women, to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who has declared former IPS officer Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate for the Feb 7 assembly polls, Lekhi said the party had numerous plans that could be implemented only if it came to power.
"We need a woman chief minister with administrative experience who can better understand the problems that the women of this city are facing," Lekhi, the head of the BJP's committee constituted to address issues faced by Delhi women, said here.
"We have many plans to improve the safety measures for women but we can implement them only if we come to power," she added.
The parliamentarian from New Delhi further said that if the BJP formed the government in Delhi, it would ensure gender sensitisation, community policing and all women taxis among other things.
