Due to heavy rains in the capital Delhi on Wednesday evening, the roads were submerged and there was a long traffic jam on the roads. Water filled in the underpasses at many places. Due to this, the roads were closed. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain for Thursday. At present, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory regarding traffic jams. Jam in these areas of Delhi
The road coming from Mandi House to ITO in Delhi was completely jammed. The speed of vehicles had slowed down due to water filling between one to two feet under the ITO underpass. Due to this, there was a situation of severe jam on the road coming from India Gate and the road coming from Mandi House at the ITO red light. Long queues are seen on the roads, along this, due to water filled under ITO, the drivers have stopped their vehicles at the red light itself.
Red alert for rain in Delhi
Heavy rains occurred in many areas. Videos of waterlogging after rain started going viral on the internet. In these videos, it can be seen that people are forced to walk in knee-deep water on the road. At the same time, traffic has come to a complete standstill on many roads. Even rainwater has accumulated at the Makar Dwar of Parliament House. A red alert was issued for most parts of the capital and its surroundings till 9 pm.

People have been advised not to go through this route. Traffic was affected due to a bus breakdown on the Outer Ring Road in the carriageway from Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk. Traffic was affected on MB Road in the carriageway from Sangam Vihar to Badarpur due to a bus breakdown near Lal Kuan Red Light. There was a jam here for the last three hours till late night.
Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory
According to the traffic police, there was a huge jam due to a bus breakdown near the NFC red light on the route from New Friends Colony to Ashram on Mathura Road. Avoid going on this route and use some other route. Last night, many underpasses were filled with water. Which has been removed. Now the way is clear.
Vehicles were slowly leaving the Pragati Maidan tunnel till 10 pm. Traffic police officials said that water was being removed from the surrounding houses in Pragati Maidan. In such a situation, it was speculated that the tunnel would be closed soon. The rain had also started again at night. Apart from this, Bhairo Marg was closed.
