The US has strongly reprimanded the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, for the violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke to Yunus over the phone on Monday. Sullivan instructed Yunus to ensure the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. Yunus has also agreed to this.
The White House issued a statement in this regard and said, 'Both the leaders have expressed commitment to protect and respect the human rights of people of all religions.' Many meanings are being drawn from this call made in Bangladesh before the transfer of power by the Biden administration to Donald Trump.
Jaishankar reaches America
India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is also on a 6-day US tour from today. India has raised the issue of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh loudly. It is believed that Jaishankar will raise this issue in America as well.
But as Jaishankar's flight took off, the phone started ringing in Bangladesh. When Yunus was reprimanded in America, he agreed to provide security. This is being considered as the result of India's big diplomatic innings.

Indian-origin American MP Shri Thanedar also raised the issue of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. He also demanded the White House to intervene in this matter.
Thanedar had said, 'America has a history of raising its voice against oppression. We should not back down this time too to raise our voices in favor of human rights. We should talk to Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus and demand to establish peace and make the country with the principles of equality and justice.'
