On the occasion of Doctors Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that his government is committed to improving the health infrastructure in India. He said that doctors in the country should get the respect they deserve. July 1 is celebrated as National Doctors Day. This day is celebrated in the memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was a famous doctor. He was also the Chief Minister of West Bengal. His birth and death date falls on this day.
Posting on social media platform X, PM Modi said, "Happy Doctors Day. It is a day to honor the dedication and compassion of our healthcare heroes. He further said, our government is committed to improving the health infrastructure in the country and ensuring respect for doctors."
Chartered accountants were also praised.
In another post, PM Modi also praised chartered accountants. He said, "Happy Chartered Accountant Day too. CAs play a vital role in shaping our economic landscape. Their expertise and strategic insights are equally beneficial to businesses and individuals. They also play a key role in economic growth and stability."
Kharge also wished Happy Doctors' Day.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed gratitude to the medical community on the occasion of Doctors' Day. Posting on Instagram, he said, "On the occasion of Doctors' Day, we appreciate the selfless dedication of the health community - doctors, nurses, Anganwadi workers, ANMs, Asha workers, and other health workers."
He further said, "We salute their unwavering commitment to save lives." The Congress leader also remembered Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy on this occasion. He said, "We also respect physician, educationist, and freedom fighter Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. He also contributed to nation-building. His work inspires us."
