
On Friday, two groups clashed after an alleged objectionable social media post in Yavat village of Daund tehsil of Pune district of Maharashtra. During this, arson and property damage were also done.
The police have taken major action in this whole matter. After this clash on Friday, the police have registered four cases against more than 500 people. Apart from this, 17 people have been detained. The police had to lathicharge to stop this clash.
The accused who uploaded the post was arrested.
On Saturday, officials said that the youth who uploaded the post on social media has also been arrested and a separate case has been registered against him.
In this regard, an official of the Yavat police station said that so far, we have registered a total of five cases in connection with the violence. Four of these cases are against more than 500 people who were involved in alleged arson and damage to property. Out of these more than 500 people, more than 100 people have been identified, and 17 people have been detained.

The people involved in the incident targeted a motorcycle, two cars, a religious place, and a bakery, and committed arson. The police had to fire tear gas shells and lathicharge to disperse the crowd. The officer said that precautionary orders have been implemented in Yavat and the situation is under control.
