Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra described Kali as a goddess who eats meat and accepts alcohol. BJP supports the arrested student

BJP IT cell chief and Bengal co-in-charge Amit Malviya said that Sharmistha's post did not spread communal tension anywhere, yet Kolkata Police showed haste in arresting her. Chief Minister Mamata has made even more divisive statements. Was such promptness shown in her case? This shows how a Hindu woman is being targeted for vote bank appeasement.

Kangana Ranaut came out in support of Sharmistha.

Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said that I believe that Sharmistha has used some inappropriate words in her video, such words are being used by many youth nowadays. I request the Bengal government not to make the state another North Korea.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM also condemned

Condemning the double standards of the state police in matters related to religion, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said in a post on X that elected leaders, MPs of Trinamool Congress make fun of Sanatan Dharma. Our religion is called 'Gandha Dharma', so where is the outrage? Where is their apology? Where is their quick arrest? Criticizing the arrest of Sharmistha Panoli by the Bengal Police, he said that secularism should be two-way.

Dutch parliament member and leader of the right-wing Party for Freedom Geert Wilders said that Sharmistha's arrest is an insult to freedom of expression. He requested Prime Minister Modi to intervene in the matter. At the same time, Bar Council of India chairman and Supreme Court senior advocate Manan Kumar Mishra has strongly condemned the arrest of law student Sharmistha Panoli. He demanded Sharmistha's immediate release and a fair trial.
