The Election Commission has once again rejected Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's claims of the removal of names from the voter list in Bihar.
This time, the matter is related to a viral video, in which a person named Subodh Kumar claimed that his name was removed from the voter list. The Commission clarified that this claim is completely baseless and Subodh Kumar is not an ordinary voter, but a booth level agent of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Rahul Gandhi shared a video on the social media platform X. In it, he wrote, "What happened with Subodh Kumar ji is happening with lakhs of people in Bihar. Vote theft is an attack on Mother India; the people of Bihar will not tolerate it."
What did the Election Commission say?
The Election Commission immediately issued a detailed clarification on the matter. The Commission said that Subodh Kumar's name was not in the voter list even before the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), so the question of his name being "removed" does not arise. The Commission also informed that Subodh's name is not in the list of deleted voters published as per the Supreme Court's direction.
Along with this, the Commission revealed that Subodh neither made any claim under Form-6 nor submitted any necessary declaration after the draft list was published. Not only this, when the list of deleted voters was pasted for public notice at polling station number 10, Subodh was present there, but he did not raise any objection.
Statement of Nawada District Election Officer
The District Election Officer of Nawada said in his detailed report, "It is clear that Subodh Kumar's allegation of deletion of name in SIR 2025 is baseless and wrong. If he submits Form-6 and the necessary declaration in the future, his name will be included as per the law."
The Election Commission also clarified that Subodh Kumar is not a common voter, but a booth level agent of RJD, who is trying to spread confusion through such claims.
Rahul's claims were rejected earlier, too
This is not the first time that the Election Commission has rejected Rahul Gandhi's claims of "vote theft". This month, in Aurangabad, Rahul Gandhi raised the case of a woman named Ranju Devi, in which he claimed that the name of Ranju and her family was removed from the voter list.
However, the Election Commission responded to this by releasing a video of Ranju Devi herself, in which she confirmed that her and her family's names are completely safe in the voter list. Ranju also said that some political workers misled her and said that her name has been removed from the list.
What appeal has the Election Commission made?
The Election Commission once again made it clear that all claims of removal of names from the voter list are thoroughly investigated and the instructions of the Supreme Court are fully followed. The Commission appealed to political parties and leaders not to make misleading claims without facts, as this creates confusion among the public.
These continuous claims of Rahul Gandhi and the fact-based denial of the Commission make it clear how much truth there is in the questions being raised regarding the voter list in Bihar. Both the people of Bihar and the Election Commission are keeping a close eye on this matter.
